Three older women smiling for the camera in a park.

Annette Starr (née Konstantelos), passed away in the early morning on May 19, 2023. For seven years she fought hard to stay with her family that she loved so much. She leaves behind her adoring husband of 11 years Jim Starr, and her loving children whom she was so proud of, Jim Andresen and Jeannie Andresen Taché (Jacob Taché). She was preceded in death by her parents Gus and Jeanne Konstantelos, her best friend and little sister Eleni, and two older and protective brothers Bobby and Jimmy. She is survived by her loving sister Yvonne Sito (Steve O’Malley), her brother Fritzy, sisters-in-law Diane Konstantelos and Kiki Konstantelos, and Starr brothers and sisters-in-law Nick (Janice), Jeff (Sheila), and Greg (Kathy) as well as many nieces and nephews and great friends. She was a labor union business agent and Vice President of the UFCW Local 1540/1546 for 35 years, and was active in the women’s club at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church. But Annie’s greatest passion of all was people and being wherever her family and friends needed her. She was known for her baking and always leaving a banana bread on someone’s door handle to make them smile. Special shout outs to her besties, Rosie Peters, Val Sarelas, Sherry Bender, and Elliot Miller. Friends and family will meet for visitation on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 3PM-8PM at N.H. Scott and Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Road, Glenview. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Annette’s name to Heartland Animal Shelter, 586 Palwaukee Drive, Wheeling Il 60090 (or animal shelter of your choice) or the Greek American Nursing Home, 220 N. First Street, Wheeling, IL 60090.

May her memory be eternal.

She will always be “Annie” to me and I will never forget singing and laughing with my dad, Tony, her nouno in the car every Sunday. She was a true friend to all and a loving cousin to me.

Oh no. I always looked forward to seeing her. I remember the days we spent making chocolate candy for the Christmas Bazaars. May she rest in peace without pain or suffering. May her memory be eternal.

Annette will be missed. May her memory be eternal.

What a beautiful human being! When my brother John suddenly passed away, Annette sent me the most touching sympathy card. She was a real sweetheart, a truely brave and courageous lady, and a wonderful inspiration to everyone who knew her. God Bless her loved ones and may her memory be eternal.
