Florence Georgopoulos, nee Stevens-Stavropoulos, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Augustino N. Georgopoulos, and loving mother of Nicholas (Dina) Georgopoulos and Katherine (John) Anagnostopoulos. Proud Grandmother of Katherine, Maria, and Anastasia. Devoted daughter of the late Adamantios and Florence, nee Gharrett, Stavropoulos, and dear sister of Lorraine (the late Ray) Pertle, the late Johnola (the late Frank) Wojdak, the late George (the late Emma) and the late Fred (Suzanne) Stevens. Sister-in-law of the late Dina (Danny) Demos, Peter (Tasia), and the late Tom (the late Voula) Georgopoulos.

Florence was an amazing mother figure, not only to her two children, grandchildren and godchildren, but to every child and person who crossed her path. She left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Florence’s main focus throughout life was her family; she did everything for them. She was married to her loving husband, Augie, who adored her for 63 years until his death in 2016. Together they owned Augie’s Restaurant in Andersonville for 54 years until they retired in 2007. At the time, it was the longest running business in the neighborhood, and she was affectionately known as “Mrs. Augie”. She loved her beautiful circle of friends and the many memories she made with them. Florence’s sense of style was second to none and she was a class act always. Her faith was unquestionable and her humility and love of church was a model for all.

Praying for you and your beautiful family.  So sorry for your families loss.  May you rejoice in Paradise.  May your memory be eternal here in our lives! For your life will be eternal in Heaven’s Paradise????

Dear Kathy and Nick, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your beautiful Mom. She was a sweetheart and loved you and your Dad very much. Her kindness shown toward teachers at Transfiguration has never been forgotten. May God hold her in the palm of His hand. Love, Mrs. Milhizer

To the grieving family of Florence,

Like a thief in the night it came, taking away the
loving mother from your midst. Leaving you with the fondest thoughts, memories
and experiences that you all shared and shall cherish all the days of your life.

Florence’s genuine caring and sweet personality will be remembered by those of us who were lucky to have known her.

May our loving Lord grant you strength to accept the unexpected and may Florence’s memory be eternal.

In sympathy,
