Hristos Apostolopoulos, age 69, of Kouvelia, Arkadia Greece, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Nikoletta, nee Karanikolas, and loving father of Panagiota “Patty” Apostolopoulos and Demetrios (Elene Kontos) Apostolopoulos. Devoted son of the late Demetrios and Panagiota Apostolopoulos and dear brother of Nikoletta Apostolopoulos, Maria (Costa) Kapelos, Evangelos (Katerina) Apostolopoulos, Vaso (the late Apostolos) Vasiliadis and Toula (the late Gianni) Revelou. Special brother-in-law of Eugenia (John) Berbas and the late Christos Karanikolas. Fond uncle, cousin and friend of many, here and in Greece.
Hristos was the proud owner, for over 30 years, of Nicky’s Fruit Market in Chicago, and as such, was well known in the Albany Park community. He was always ready for a conversation and a laugh. He and his beloved Nikoletta instilled this kindness and work ethic in their children, Patty and Jimmy.
In compliance with current health restrictions, family and friends will gather, by invitation only, on Thursday, October 8, 2020, for Visitation at 10:00 a.m., until the Funeral Service starts at 10:30 a.m., at St. George Greek Orthodox Church located at 2701 N. Sheffield Ave., Chicago, IL 60614. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
