Nikitas Karahalios, age 88, fell asleep to the Lord December 10, 2023. Beloved husband of Vasiliki Karahalios née Papaioannou for 54 years. Loving father of Karen Karahalios, Kathy Karahalios and Konstantinos Karahalios. Devoted son of the late Konstantinos and Kyratso Karahalios. Proud grandfather of Victoria Kastelan. Dear brother of Stavroula (the late Ioannis) Marsis, the late Eleni (the late Petros) Karapatis, Ioannis (the late Christina) Karahalios and Yioryos (Maria) Karahalios. Son-in-law of Panagiotis and Aikaterini Papaioannou. Fond uncle and cousin of many.
Nikitas was an avid gardener and loved to make people laugh. He was devoted to the Greek Orthodox church. Nikitas was a soft-spoken, good hearted person loved and adored by many.
Visitation Friday, December 15, 2023 from 10:30 AM until time of Funeral Service 11:30 AM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1017 North LaSalle Drive, Chicago, IL 60610. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral or Alzheimer’s Association 225 North Michigan Avenue Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 would be appreciated.
