Peter Nickolas Stoyias, age 78, fell asleep in the Lord on December 22, 2023. Devoted son of Harry and Rose Stoyias née Lilles. Dear brother of Dorothy Stoyias, Cynthia (William) Kopelares and Janet (the late George J.) Lykos. Fond uncle of Laine (Tony) Adrian, Joanna (Todd) Reykjalin, Leah (Jeffrey) Solzak, James G. (Audra) Lykos and Robert (Nikki) Lykos. Great uncle of many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Peter served in the Army 1st Calvary Division in the Signal Corps in Vietnam from 1965 to 1966 where he received a Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was a friend to many who came through his life.
Visitation Friday, December 29, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kolbus-May Funeral Home, 6857 West Higgins Avenue, Chicago, IL 60656. Funeral Service Saturday, December 30, 2023, 10:00 AM at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2727 West Winona Street, Chicago, IL 60625. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church or the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 would be appreciated.
