Bessie E. “Vasilia” Gazis, nee Morgan, age 91, of Johnstown, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Elias G. and loving mother of Presbytera Katherine (Fr. Christos) Pittos; Elaine (George) Gavas, Maria (Elias) Dimitrelos and Georgene (Nikolaos) Votzakis. Proud Yiayia of 15 grandchildren and Big Yiayia of 16 great-grandchildren. Devoted daughter of the late Spyridon and Helen, nee Maheras, Amorgianos and dear sister of Irene (the late Edmund) Kolozenski and the late Nina (the late Sotiros) Kyres. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews and their families and special friend of many.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Funeral and Interment services are private. Memorial tributes may be made in Bessie’s name to St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church, 8500 Archer Avenue, Willow Springs, IL 60480.
