Dena Zarkos, nee Romas, born on August 6th, 1934, in Nestani, Greece, daughter of the late Demetri and Eleni Roumeliotis, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on February 6th, 2021. Beloved wife of the late George S. Zarkos; loving mother of Eleni (George) Moutidis, Spiro G. (Lili) Zarkos, and the late Nancy (Tom) Stamatelos ; Proud grandmother of Zoe, Dena, Patricia, Anastasia, Konstantina, Alexia, and George; dear sister of the late Kostas (Koletta) Roumeliotis, the late Vasso (Savvas) Kounas, the late Tasia (Nicholas) Papadakis, the late Petros (Demetra) Romas, the late Anastasios (Maria) Roumeliotis, the late George (Sophia) Romas, the late Sam (Anny) Romas, Paraskevi (Kostas) Kordopitoulas, and the late Nick (Katina) Romas; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. She devoted her life to her children and family and was a remarkable wife, mother, and grandmother. Her warmth and love radiated to everyone she met; she will be remembered for her kind heart and endearing personality. Family and Friends will meet at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 601 S. Central Avenue, Chicago, IL 60644, for Visitation Friday, February 12th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:30 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, Illinois.
