Anna J. Stamates, nee Karris, fell asleep in our Lord on October 8, 2021. Beloved wife of the late George Stamates. Loving mother of Mariana Stamates and the late Peter Stamates. Cherished daughter of the late Mary and John Karris. Dear twin sister of Anastasia (the late John) Scoubis. Dear aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend to many who will miss her dearly. Anna was devoted to her children and an avid dog lover. Anna was very involved and supportive of her church, including the church choir and Philoptochos. Friends and family will meet at 9:30AM Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 2350 E. Dempster Street, Des Plaines, IL for visitation, funeral service to begin at 10:30AM. The service may be viewed live or recorded on Facebook live. Interment to follow at Irving Park Cemetery, 7777 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s name to the family to make charitable donations in her honor would be greatly appreciated.
