We mourn the death on February 10, 2022, of Costas Petros, beloved husband and best friend for 62 years of Renate Petros nee Heyn, proud father of Katherine (Dainius), Christina (Frank), and George Petros. Loving Papou of Spiro, Ignatius, Grayson, and Sebastian.

Costas was born on October 4, 1930, in Lidoriki, Greece to Georgios and Argyri Petrou who preceded him in death, as did three of his six siblings in Greece. He is also mourned by his surviving sister and brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Greece as well as in the United States.

He came to the United States in 1951 to support his parents in Greece. In 1953, during the Korean war, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. During this time, he was stationed in Germany where he used every furlough to visit his relatives in Greece. After the Army, he learned the food business by working with his uncle in Chicago. Eventually, he and a business partner opened their own food establishments. He worked tirelessly to provide an amazing life for his family. Costas retired in 2001. His love of family and Greece remained a constant throughout his life. His immediate family will forever miss his love, caring, and support. In accordance with Costas’ wishes, his funeral and final resting place will be in Lidoriki, Greece.

May his memory be eternal.
