Christ Kopsias, reunited with our Lord on February 11, 2022. Survived by his loving children Nichole and Demetri Kopsias. Cherished son of Ariadne and James Kopsias. Beloved brother of George (Caryn) and Katina Kopsias. Fond uncle of James, Andrew, and Matthew Kopsias. Dear cousin, nephew, godfather, and friend to many who will miss him greatly.

Christ grew up in the West Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. He was an avid Chicago sports fan growing up and enjoyed spending his days playing basketball, baseball, and bicycling around the neighborhood with friends. Christ joined his family gas station business on the North Side then moved to Buffalo Grove to raise his family.

Christ’s sense of humor found him, friends, everywhere he went. He loved cooking and was renowned at family gatherings for his legendary desserts and “secret spice” souvlakia recipe. A true friend to many, Christ was an exceptional listener and provided only the finest advice, and could light up any room with facetious, quick-witted humor.

Above all Christ loved to be a Dad, whether it was spending time with his kids by means of coaching, advising, or guiding them through important moments of their life. Christ accomplished what many parents strive to do for their kids; he instilled important life lessons and is the strong foundation that’s engraved in them forever.

He is loved deeply and will be sorely missed by all that he touched. His spirit will live on forever and may his memory be eternal.

Friends and family will meet Wednesday, February 16, 2022, for visitation from 4 PM-8 PM at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Avenue, Park Ridge. Visitation at 11:30 AM on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 5649 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, IL with funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM. The funeral service may be viewed live on St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christ’s name to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated. May his Memory Be Eternal.
