Nicholas L. Canellis, age 87, peacefully passed on December 13, 2023. Beloved husband to Diane for 56 years; cherished father to Pamela (the late David) Perron and Nicholas L. Canellis Jr.; loving Papou (Grandfather) of Alyssa Perron, Alexis and Adrienne Canellis; brother-in-law to Vicki (the late Bill) Bryant and Nancy (Wellman) Hoff; fond uncle and loving cousin to many. Nicholas is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Bertha Canellis; and his brother George (Nancy) Canellis.

Nick grew up on the north side of Chicago. He graduated from Roosevelt University in 1958 with a business degree and began his career with the City of Chicago, helping relocate businesses from the original Greektown to the current Halsted location. For the remainder of his career, Nick operated his residential real estate appraisal business. He was devoted to his Greek Orthodox faith as an altar boy at Saint Demetrios and served as a member of the parish council at Saint Andrew Greek Orthodox Church. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan. Nick touched many lives by singing and dancing, expressing his great joy for life.

Funeral Service Tuesday, December 19, 2023, 10:00 AM at Saint Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 5649 North Sheridan Road, Chicago, IL. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL.
