Mia “Efthemia” P. Kasimos nee Panos, age 95, fell asleep in the Lord October 1, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas Kasimos for 55 years. Loving mother of Dr. John (Helen) Kasimos. Devoted daughter of the late Thomas and Kaliope Panos. Proud grandmother of Anastasia and Nicholas Kasimos. Dear sister of the late Francis Panos and Helen (the late Martin) Mottlow. Loving Godmother of Anastasia (Jim) Limperis. Mia was born in Evanston, Illinois, on May 16th, 1927. She attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and was a trained commercial artist. She was married to Nick—the love of her life—for 55 years, during which time they together built a successful restaurant supply business. Devoted to her family, she was an endless source of love, inspiration, and encouragement. Mia will be remembered for her candor, warmth, and charm. A skilled storyteller, she was witty, and had an incredible sense of humor. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of many. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and loyal friend, who will be deeply missed by all that knew her. May her memory be eternal.
