Maria Theodora Demos, age 59, fell asleep in our Lord on April 24, 2021. Loving mother of Christopher (fiancée Alli) and Mary Katherine Batrich. Devoted daughter of Danny and the late Constantina Demos. Dear sister of Kathy Demos. Dear cousin, godmother, and friend to many who will miss her greatly. Throughout her whole life, Maria made a lasting impression wherever she went. She graduated from DePaul with her Masters and raised two beautiful children as a single mother. For years, she served on the Saints Peter and Paul Philoptochos board as well as helped with planning numerous outreach events and Greek Fest. Over the years, she volunteered in events like Habitat for Humanity, Feed6, and Project Mexico. Always smiling and laughing, she was the light in a lot of people’s lives. Maria sacrificed a lot for the people she loved, but she received a lot of love in return. Family and friends will meet at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road, Glenview, on Wednesday, April 28, at 9:30AM for visitation, funeral service to follow at 10:00AM. Interment will be private at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove. Memorial donations to be determined. Arrangements by John G. Adinamis Funeral Director Ltd., 847-375-0095.
