Evan N. Ypsilantis, age 102, fell asleep in our Lord on January 12, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Matina Ypsilantis nee Chakides. Loving father of James Ypsilantis, Elene Ypsilantis, and the late Katina Moe. Proud Papou of Eric Ypsilantis, Kevin (Kaitie) Alman, Ashley Moe, and Jeff Ypsilantis and great-Papou of Evan, Jack, and Ezra. Dear brother of the late Homer (the late Georgia) and James (the late Dorothy) Ypsilantis and brother-in-law of the late Joan King, Richard Brown, and Elene Brown. Cherished son of the late Nicholas and Meropi Ypsilantis and son-in-law of the late Nicholas and Evanthia Chakides. Dear uncle of Richard, Nick, Evan, and Mark and their families. Dear cousin, godfather, and friend to many who will miss him. Honored member of Bentley University Alumni, Masons, U.S. Army 25th Infantry Division, Tropic Lightning, and Tech Sergeant Signal Corp. Friends and family will meet Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 9AM for visitation at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road, Glenview, with funeral service to follow at 9:30AM. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid Avenue, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Evan’s name to Sts.
