Konstantinos “Gus” Anagnostopoulos, fell asleep in our Lord on May 28, 2023. Gus was born on the 20th of October in 1924 in Kria Vrisi, Greece. He was the oldest of 5 siblings. He served in the army in Greece and then made his way to America where his path was quite unusual. He first immigrated to Tooele, Utah where he worked in the coal mines and steel industry. He then returned to Greece where he met his wife of 64 years, married and then returned to the United States where they eventually settled in Chicago. Soon thereafter their two sons, Louie and John were born. He then continued his work journey at Zenith which he left to work at their restaurant in Bridgeport which he co-owned with his wife’s siblings. Even after he retired, he still worked by helping out friends in their restaurant until he was in his late 80s…he then spent his days tinkering in his garage and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He was methodical in the details he knew and the notes he kept on everything. One of his favorite things was sneaking a twenty into his only granddaughter’s hand when he thought nobody was looking. Anastasia was his pride and joy and one of her favorite memories was when he gave her an article on technology but it was all in Greek. He was a loving family man who gave his all to his sons and was best of friends with his beloved dogs, Mocha and Latte. They were actually Anastasia’s dogs but he would call every day to make sure the dogs visited him. His most prized possession was his driver’s license which was still valid at the age of 98…May we all be blessed with his years and love of family and life.

Beloved husband of Tesse Anagnostopoulos nee Katsoudas. Loving father of Louie and John (Katherine Georgopoulos) Anagnostopoulos. Proud Papou of Anastasia “Sia” Anagnostopoulos.
