Andrew Tapas fell asleep in the Lord on March 20, 2024.

Beloved husband of Elene (Poulos) for over 62 years. Loving father of George and Mark Tapas. Cherished grandfather of Andrew G. and Theodore G. Tapas. Treasured son of the late Christ and mother, Marina Tapas (Franco).

Dearest brother-in-law of the late Demetrious Poulos (Beatrice).

Andy was the dear brother of the late John (Connie) and Nick (Marina) Tapas.

He was a loving uncle and cousin to many. Andy was also a wonderful friend to many people whole loved him and enjoyed his sense of humor.

Andy proudly served our country as an MP in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Offices for 38 years and was beloved by the neighborhoods he served.

Andrew kept active with sports. He played 16” softball for over 50 years, and was passionate about golf, bowling, fishing and hunting.

We send him on his road trip to heaven with love.

In lieu of flowers, a donation offered in his memory St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, or a charity of your choosing are requested.

Visitation Tuesday, March 26 from 10:00am until 11:00am at St. Andrew 5649 N. Sheridan Rd, Chicago, followed by funeral service at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie. Arrangements by Memory Eternal Funeral Directors, Ltd. (847) 375-0095.
