Christos Valavanis, age 95, fell asleep in the Lord September 12, 2023. Beloved husband of Aglaia Valavanis née Hatzivasiliadou for 55 years. Loving father of Lina (Frank) Andreou and Peter (Rachel) Valavanis. Devoted son of the late Panagiotis and Magdalini Valavanis. Proud grandfather of John and Chris Andreou. Dear brother, uncle and cousin of many.
Christos loved and appreciated life and had a smile that would illuminate a room. His family and his love for his wife, children and especially his grandchildren kept him alive and happy. He set an example of how a father and grandfather should love his family and his lessons and wisdom will be carried on through his grandsons.
Visitation Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Service 10:30 AM at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2727 West Winona Street, Chicago, IL 60625. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
