Atalanta “Addie” E. Patsavas née Ellis, age 91, fell asleep in the Lord September 16, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Alexander C. Patsavas for 21 years. Loving mother of Christopher (Dorothea), Dr. Peter (Pamela) and Jim (Carol) Patsavas. Devoted daughter of the late Peter and Helen Ellis. Proud grandmother of Dr. Kristia (James) Spalding, Alexander (Vanessa) Patsavas, Dr. Mark (Lisa) Patsavas, Kelly (Rich) Finlay and Dr. AJ Patsavas. Great grandmother of Jack Spalding, Amelia Spalding, Aris Patsavas, Aleko Patsavas, Arianna Patsavas and Lucy Patsavas. Dear sister of Mary (the late George) Kapolas and the late Kay (the late John) Passiales, Jane (the late Gus) Voorlas. Sister-in-law of Katherine (the late Nicholas) Patsavas, Bertha (the late Con) Patsavas, the late George (Theodora Patsavas, Irene (Jim) Messerges and David (Angie) Patsavas. Fond aunt and cousin of many.

Addie was a member of the Saint Nicholas choir and Hellenic Chorale for over 70 years where people looked forward to her solo of O Holy Night around Christmas. She was fluent in multiple languages and taught high school Spanish and French in Evergreen Park. In the 1950s Addie received a scholarship to the University of Wisconsin in Madison where she earned her Master’s Degree. She played in Bridge groups where she raised money for local charities, and she loved to travel. Addie was renown for her roast lamb and spaghetti Sunday dinners with her family.

Visitation Saturday September 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Service 11:00 AM at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 South Kolmar Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Capital Campaign Fund or Sacred Monastery of Saint Nina, 9002 Clemsonville Road, Union Bridge, MD 21791 would be appreciated. Love to all my family, may our Lord, comfort you, I know she will be terribly missed❤️ I love my Auntie Addie and I know she is with our Lord and her Holy Sacrament Uncle Alex, for whom she waited so long to be with again, her sisters, my mom Demetra and Auntie Kay, and all our family and loved ones. I will always have a special place in my heart for my Auntie Addie. She was truly ahead of her time in so many ways. I will always cherish the wonderful conversations I had with her. We will miss you Addie ! It’s almost 3 years I’d been with you , and I’ve known you , you have the kindness heart , yes you’re tough ! But you thought me so much about life and everything, you are a great mom to your 3 sons and a great grandmother to your grandkids, you are a proud mom! We will never forget you Addie ! I remember Addie from her role as a teacher. She was a delightful woman & loved by many.
