Constantinos (Gus) Diamantopoulos, beloved husband of Adriani (Liana), nee Logarakis; loving father of Konstantina (Tina) and Jeffrey Burgis of Park Ridge and Apostolos (Paul) and Anna of Seattle; devoted son of the late Apostolos and Konstantina nee Katris; proud and most loving grandfather of William Constantine, Andrew Jeffrey, Thomas Constantine and Lydia Patricia; dear brother of Athanasia and Christo Boulougouri, Barbara and the late Demetrios Mantas, Georgios and Dina, Giannoula and the late John, the late Demetrios and Dorothy, and the late Sophia; beloved son-in-law of Irene (nee Krassakopoulos) and the late Theodore Logarakis; beloved brother-in-law of Nicholas and Anna Logarakis and Panagiotis and Despina Logarakis; fond and devoted uncle of many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Constantinos was born in Nestani, (Tripoli / Arcadia) Greece in 1936 and emigrated to Chicago in the 1960s to help his uncle in the restaurant business.  He worked his way up to owning and managing several restaurants in the northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin area. Constantinos possessed a strong will and spirit enabling him to overcome many challenges including surviving a near fatal car crash in 1989 and quadruple bypass surgery in 1994.  Despite suffering from many ailments he never gave up and always had a positive outlook.

Constantinos had a huge heart and he was most proud of his family – his loving wife of 51 years, devoted children and adoring grandchildren.  He also greatly loved and supported his entire extended family.

In recent years, Constantinos was a Member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church in Niles, IL and he was previously a Member of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Waukegan, IL.

The family is extremely touched by the overwhelming love and support of all of our family, friends and community during this difficult time.  In consideration of the current pandemic, the Funeral service at St. Haralambos in Niles and entombment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines will be held in private.

We invite you to watch the live streaming Funeral service on Friday, July 10th at 10:00 a.m. CST, by visiting Facebook or YouTube.  A recording of the service will also be available.  The family will host a luncheon to remember Constantinos and celebrate his life when it will be safe for all to gather.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Constantinos’ name to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, 7373 Caldwell Ave., Niles, IL 60174 and Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, The Giving Program, 1775 Dempster St., Park Ridge, IL 60068.

May His Memory Be Eternal.
