John Nicholas Christ, age 101, of Wheeling and born in Macedonia, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Tula Christ, nee Troupakis, and loving father of Constantine and Michael Christ. Proud Papou of Michael Jr. (Sarah) and Matthew (Arianna Bernhardt, Partner); great grandfather of Callisthene “Callie”; father-in-law of Carrie Christ and special cousin of Anita Bartley and special uncle of Martha Rhodes. Loved by many.
John served during World War II for his country of Greece. As an adult John made his way to America working to bring his family. John worked as a Food Service Manager in Chicagoland including Edgewater Beach Hotel and Arlington Racetracks.
John was Papou to all around him. His grandchildren’s fondest memories are cooking, gardening, fishing and hunting. Meeting his great granddaughter was a huge blessing and brought him much joy.
