Julia Koutavas, (Tabas), nee Kutavas, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019.  Beloved wife of the late Frank Koutavas (Tabas) and loving mother of (Rosa) Victoria “Vicki” Koutavas and Dennis (Loren) Tabas.  Devoted daughter of the late Dennis and the late Fotini, nee Andriaditsis, Koutavas, dear sister of the late Harriet (the late Dennis) Margaris and sister-in-law of Koralia (the late Dionisis) Kurouklis, the late Jerry (Georgia) Koutavas, Elias (Stavroula) Koutavas, the late Spiro (Ourania) Koutavas and Angelo (Anna) Koutavas.  Fond aunt of Spero, Angela, Lia and Andriana Margaris, and many other nieces and nephews and their families.  

Julia loved to sing and used her talent as a proud member of The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Choir for over 40 years . 

Visitation Thursday, January 2, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., at Nelson Funeral Home located at 820 Talcott Road in Park Ridge, IL 60068.  Family and friends will meet Friday morning, January 3, 2020, at 11:30 a.m., for the Funeral service at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church located at 2350 E. Dempster, Des Plaines, IL 60016.  Interment Elmwood Cemetery, 2905 Thatcher Avenue in River Grove, Illinois.

Your mother looks beautiful in her pictures. I wish I had an opportunity to meet her. Victoria, you spent a lot of time with your mother and you made life as comfortable as possible for her this past year. You, too, can rest now knowing your mother is at peace.
