Maria N. Karris

Maria N. Karris, nee Gordon, of Ormond Beach, FL died on January 13, 2022, at the age of 78. She was born in Chicago, IL on February 22,1943. She moved to Florida from Park Ridge, IL in 1988.

She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach, FL, sang in the church choir and was a member of St. Barbara Philoptochos Philanthropic Society. 

She is survived by her husband Dean, daughter Dawn P. Gonzales, son Leo C. Karris (Karen) of Grayslake, IL, daughter Francine M. MacDonald (Thomas) of Ormond Beach, FL, son George D. Karris (Sarah) of Little Silver, NJ, and seven grandchildren, Joseph, Maria, Elias, Anastasia, Murphie, Nicholas, Grace, great grandchild Calliope, brother Gus G. Gordon (late Marie) of Lake Hughes, CA and nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will meet Wednesday, January 19 at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 W. Talcott Road, Park Ridge, IL from 4PM-8PM for visitation. Funeral service Thursday 10AM at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Chicago, IL with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to: the Arthritis Foundation; St. Photios Foundation, St. Augustine, FL; and St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Daytona Beach, FL.
