Stamatoula Koutsikos, age 90, born in Perdiki, Ikaria, Greece, and longtime resident of Chicago, passed away November 4, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Konstantinos; loving mother of Sophia Koutsikos (Eric Steinke) and Argy Koutsikos (David Tafreshing); cherished Yiayi of Kosta and Zoe Tafreshing; dearest sister of the late Costa (the late Louisa) Pandeladis and Koula (the late Elias) Mandagas; dear aunt and great aunt and friend of many.

Words cannot begin to express the loss we feel. Even until the end you showed us that our faith and love will give us strength to carry on as you would want us to. You have been loving, a person of faith, selfless, respectful, compassionate and giving in everything you did in life and have given us those standards as the measure of how to conduct ourselves. You have been our beloved mother, friend, you have been our hero. We will always celebrate your life. We will always celebrate your light in this world. You are finally at peace…you are finally with dad…you are finally home.

Family and friends will meet on Monday, November 9, 2020, for Visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service begins at Noon at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church located at 7373 N. Caldwell Ave., Niles, IL 60174. Interment Ridgewood Memorial Park Cemetery.

In light of current COVID19 restrictions, all guests will have their temperature taken upon entering the church. Face masks and social distancing are required, both in church and at the cemetery.
