Peter J. Kougias, age 87, fell asleep in the Lord August 5, 2023. Beloved husband of Anna Kougias née Tsiolis for 63 years. Loving father of John (Sandy) and Tom (Susan) Kougias. Devoted son of the late John and Kalliope Kougias. Proud grandfather of Anna, Peter and Alexis Kougias. Dear brother of Bessie (the late Nick) Psarros, Helen (James) Tsengouras, the late Katina (the late Solon) Roupas, Nick (the late Helen) Kougias. Fond uncle and cousin of many.
Peter owned and operated Northeastern Fruit Market at Lincoln and Peterson in Chicago. He was well known and loved by his neighbors and customers.
Visitation Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service 11:00 AM at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2727 West Winona Street, Chicago, IL 60625. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
