Raymond R. Isaac, longtime Burr Ridge resident, died peacefully Sunday evening August 7, 2022 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He was 92. Mr. Isaac was a pillar of the Chicago Police Department (CPD) in the 1980’s as he served Chicago’s Gold Coast, Oak Street and Michigan Avenue for many years – and stories from those years that could last many lifetimes. His love of the Assyrian and Greek culture shaped his life in countless ways and was so very proud to be an active and respected member of the Chicago Greek community. Whatever you called him – Ray, Raymond, Mr. Isaac, Theo (Uncle) Ray – he was loved by so many and will be truly missed. Raymond is survived by his cherished and loving son Christopher James Isaac of Chicago, sister Mariam (Warren) Shabaz of Wilmette and brother-in-law James E. (Katheryn) Giasafakis of Denver. He is also survived by many relatives, cousins, nieces and nephews locally in Chicago, Los Angeles, and the East Coast. He was preceded in death by his beloved and wonderful wife of 36 years, Elaine (Giasafakis) in 2005, parents Bobajan and Louise and two brothers, Fredon and Norman. Christopher would like to acknowledge Ray’s caregiver, Joy Grimaldi for her incredible support and motivation. What an extraordinary life. What an extraordinary Dad. And what an incredible man. Family and Friends will meet Friday, August 12, 2022 for a Visitation from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Service 10:30 AM at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1017 North La Salle Drive, Chicago, IL 60610.
