Tina Foutris, nee Skordoulis, age 92, of Libertyville, IL, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2020. Beloved wife of the late James F. Foutris and loving mother of Cynthia (Harry) Bekiaris. Loving Sister of Emily (Len) Hawk, Bill (late Judy) Skordoulis and preceded in death by the late Georgia (the late Larry) Corso. Cherished Grandmother to Cassandra Marie and Dean James. Special aunt, cousin and friend.

Her want of teaching history was put aside when she began working in her father’s restaurant, at South Water Market, where she met the love of her life Jim. Tina’s career as a keypunch operator took her to IMB, Brach’s and Northwestern Railroad, where she worked as a pioneer of new technologies. Not one to shy away from adventure, her love of reading historical fiction gave birth to her worldly travels.

Family and friends may choose to pay their respects on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, by registering via the on-line process at Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church, 1207 Riverwoods Road. Lincolnshire, IL 60069. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service (click link for live stream) at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL. Social distancing and face masks are mandatory; it is recommended that if you are not feeling well, you should not attend. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Tina’s name to Ascension of our Lord Greek Orthodox Church.
